Class 2: Dyed Black, Red, Green, Blue, Gold, Purple, Orange, and Pink
Typical Thickness: 0.3 to 0.8 mils thick

Type III
Hardcoat Anodizing
Class 1: Clear
Class 2: Dyed Black
Typical Thickness: 1-3 mils thick
- Extremely hard, dense, and wear resistant aluminum oxide
- Harder than some tool steels
- Corrosion resistance of stainless steel
- Rockwell 65 (C-Scale)

- Tabor Abrasion Test (FED-STD 141)
- Coating Thickness Test (ASTM B244)
- This is used to measure the thickness of anodized coatings of aluminum using eddy currents.
